A brass hose barb elbow joins two lengths of flexible hose at a right angle. Each leg has a series of sharp-edged rings, the barbs, that bite into the hose bore as it is pushed on, resisting pull-off. A worm drive clip over the barb completes the seal. Using an elbow instead of bending the hose prevents kinks, flow restriction and hose wear where space is short, such as behind pumps, appliances and machinery guards.
