A PVC cross joins four pipes at one point. It replaces two tees placed back to back, which saves a joint and keeps a manifold compact inside a valve box. It is popular on irrigation systems where a supply line splits into several zones, and on grid layouts where lines cross in a field or nursery. Each socket is solvent welded like any other pressure fitting.
Crosses concentrate flow changes at one point, so they suit low to moderate pressure distribution rather than high-velocity pump discharge, where separate tees are kinder to the system. We stock equal crosses from 20 to 110 mm. Supported well and cemented square, a cross makes a neat four-way junction that is easy to inspect in a valve box.
