A worm drive hose clip is a steel band with slots or embossed threads, a housing and a captive screw. Turning the screw drives the band through the housing, reducing the diameter and pressing the hose onto the barb or spigot beneath. Each clip covers a working range, so one size fits several hose diameters. DIN 3017 type clips use an embossed, non-perforated band that does not bite into soft hose.
