A king combination nipple is a hose fitting with two jobs. One end is a long shank with circumferential serrations that grip the inside of the hose; the other end is a male pipe thread that screws into a valve, pump or coupling. A hex in the middle takes a spanner. The hose is pushed over the shank and secured with a double bolt clamp or heavy clip, making it the standard fitting for hose that is clamped rather than crimped.
