Type B is a camlock coupler with a male thread on its back end. It screws into a female-threaded port, valve or tank flange so that hoses fitted with male adapters can be clipped straight on.

Type B combines a female camlock socket, complete with cam arms and gasket, with an external male thread. Fitting the coupler on the equipment side reverses the usual arrangement, so the hose carries a male Type E adapter. That suits sites where the hose ends get dragged across rough ground, as the male groove is tougher than a coupler with arms.

Typical places are valve outlets on tank trucks, IBC valves, pump suction ports and process manifolds. Seal the thread with PTFE tape or an anaerobic sealant rated for the fluid.
