On a camlock coupler the cam arm pivots on a pin through two lugs; its cam face presses into the adapter groove when the arm is closed. Over time arms bend, pins wear and the joint no longer pulls tight. A pull ring on the arm end makes the arms easy to grip with gloves, and a safety clip or locking pin passes through the arm to hold it closed against vibration and accidental knocks.
