CNAF sheet is produced by calendering a mix of synthetic fibres, mineral fillers and nitrile rubber under heat and pressure. The fibre is the main grade variable: aramid gives strength and good creep resistance for general service, glass fibre grades are economical for water and low-pressure steam, and carbon fibre grades tolerate higher temperatures and alkaline media. Each grade has a published P x T limit to check against the duty.
