A union flexible connector is a threaded rubber expansion joint: a double-sphere EPDM body held between two galvanised union nuts. Fitted at pumps and chillers, it soaks up vibration, noise, misalignment and thermal movement.

The connector has a moulded twin-sphere (double-bellows) rubber body, reinforced with fabric plies, whose beaded ends are clamped by galvanised malleable iron union nuts threaded female BSP. The two spheres flex independently, so the joint takes up axial compression and extension, lateral offset and slight angular misalignment. The rubber also breaks the metal path between pump and pipe, so far less vibration and noise travels into the building.
