A DIN 580 eye bolt is a drop-forged collar eye bolt in C15E steel, screwed fully home into a tapped hole until the collar seats. It gives a lifting point on motors, pumps, transformers, moulds and machine parts. DIN 582 eye nuts do the same job on a protruding stud. The working load limit applies to a straight vertical pull and falls sharply with angled loads. Clevis pins and forks form a pivot joint for linkages, cylinders and rigging.
