An eccentric reducer steps a welded line down in size with the small end offset, so one side of the fitting stays straight. On a horizontal pump suction it is installed flat side up, so no air can collect at the top and cause cavitation. On pipe racks and drain lines it is installed flat side down, keeping the bottom of pipe level for drainage and supports.
Hamza Fasteners stocks eccentric reducers from 1" x 3/4" to 8" x 6" in SCH 40 and SCH 80, bevelled for welding. They are used at pump suctions in water, fire and chilled water plant, on slurry and process lines and on pipe racks. Each end is bevelled ready to weld.
