Rubber sheet is calendered elastomer supplied in rolls, typically about 1.0 to 1.5 m wide, and is cut on site into flange gaskets, inspection-cover seals, anti-vibration pads and chute linings. Cloth-insertion sheet adds a fabric ply to reduce stretch and extrusion. Because rubber seals at low bolt load, it is ideal for flat-face, plastic and thin sheet-metal flanges but is not meant for high-pressure or high-temperature service.
