A G.I. equal tee has a straight run and a 90 degree branch, all three female threaded to the same nominal size. It splits a line into two or joins two lines into one, and is also used to create drain or gauge points. Cast in malleable iron and hot-dip galvanised, it handles the knocks of site installation and resists corrosion in water service. In EN 10242 the equal tee is pattern B1.
