A Type C coupler turns a plain hose end into a quick-connect fitting. The ribbed shank is pushed into the hose bore and secured with clamps or a ferrule, while the coupler end carries two cam arms and a gasket. Since the coupler is on the hose, the parts that wear travel with the hose, and the fixed equipment only needs a simple adapter.
