The Type F adapter has a male camlock groove at the front and an external male thread at the back. With no moving parts, it is simple and robust, so it is the usual choice for permanent connection points on pumps, tank flanges and valves. A Type C coupler on the hose then clips on, and a DC dust cap keeps the port clean when not in use.
