What is a MS chipboard screw?
A MS chipboard screw (wood screw) is a mild steel case-hardened screw with a sharp point and coarse, deep thread that grips timber, chipboard and MDF without splitting. It has a countersunk head and is made from C1022 steel to DIN 7505.
Do you only supply one size of chipboard screw?
No. The material test certificate shows one representative type for reference. We supply the full range of diameters (3.0–6.0 mm and others) and lengths, full and partial thread, Pozi and Torx drives, in mild steel, yellow-zinc and stainless finishes. Send your requirement for availability and price.
Can it be used outdoors?
Bare mild steel is supplied self-colour or zinc-plated and is best kept to dry, indoor and general use; for outdoor or damp conditions we recommend galvanized, HDG or stainless (also supplied). For fully external or marine timber, ask us about galvanized, HDG or stainless steel options.
What sizes and finishes are available?
