Unlike suction hose for water, spiral duct hose is built for air handling. Its wall is thin and the helix light, so even large bores are easy to lift and route. It runs at low pressure or light vacuum, carrying sawdust and chips from machines to a collector, welding and solder fumes to an extractor, or fresh air from a portable blower into a tank or confined space.
Hamza Fasteners stocks spiral duct hose from 38 to 203 mm bore. Fit with duct clamps or hose clips over a spigot. For abrasive dust in heavy use, choose a thicker grade and keep runs short. Keeping duct runs short and avoiding sharp bends preserves air velocity, which helps the extractor keep dust moving to the collector.
