Button head socket screws to ISO 7380 have a low domed head that is less likely to snag clothing, cables or hands, which suits guards, panels and consumer equipment. Countersunk socket screws to ISO 10642 (formerly DIN 7991) have a 90° conical head that sits flush with the surface. Both use a hex socket, but the shallower head means a smaller key and lower tightening torque than a standard cap screw of the same thread.
