A G.I. cap is a closed fitting with a female thread that screws over the threaded end of a pipe or nipple. Its rounded or ribbed body gives grip for a pipe wrench. In EN 10242 the cap is pattern T1. Caps close the ends of branch lines, sprinkler drops awaiting heads, water stub-outs left for future fixtures, and lines being hydro tested, and they also protect pipe threads from damage on site.
Hamza Fasteners supplies galvanised end caps from 1/4 inch to 4 inch, threaded BSPT and NPT. They are used by plumbing, firefighting and MEP contractors across Dubai and the UAE.
