A butterfly valve with threaded lugs around the body, so each flange bolts to the valve independently. One side of the line can be dismantled while the valve holds pressure, which makes it the choice for end-of-line and equipment isolation.

A lug butterfly valve has threaded lugs cast around its body that match the flange bolt holes. Instead of through-studs, each pipe flange is bolted to the lugs with its own set of cap screws or studs. That means the downstream flange can be removed for maintenance while the valve stays bolted to the upstream side and continues to isolate, within its dead-end rating. The rubber seat seals against both flange faces, so no separate gaskets are needed.
Hamza Fasteners supplies lug butterfly valves from 2" to 12" in ductile iron with EPDM or NBR seats, drilled and tapped for ASME Class 150 or PN16. They are used at pump, chiller and strainer connections, tank outlets and end-of-line positions in district cooling, fire and water networks. Lever operation is available to 8", gearboxes above.
