Fusion joints are permanent, which is why every PPR system needs a few unions. A union has two halves drawn together by a nut over a rubber seal. In the all-plastic version both halves fuse to PPR pipe. In the brass-insert version one half carries a male or female BSP thread, so the line can connect to a pump, heater, filter or meter and still be broken by unscrewing the nut.
We stock PPR unions from 20 to 63 mm in plastic and brass-insert threaded types. Fit them at every item of equipment likely to need replacement, and hand-tighten plus a quarter turn rather than over-torquing the plastic nut.
