A buttweld reducer joins two pipes of different size with a smooth cone, welded at both ends. The concentric type keeps both centrelines on the same axis and is used on vertical lines and pump discharges. The eccentric type has one flat side, so it can be laid flat on top to stop air pockets at a pump suction, or flat on the bottom so a line drains completely.
We stock reducers from 1" x 3/4" to 8" x 6" in SCH 40 and SCH 80. Both types share the same B16.9 length for a given large-end size, so they can be swapped at design stage.
