Solvent welded joints cannot be undone, so a PVC union provides the break point in a line. Each half is cemented to a pipe, and the nut pulls them together against an O-ring. Unscrewing the nut lets equipment drop out without cutting pipe. Unions are standard at irrigation pumps, filters, solenoid valves and dosing units, where parts are serviced regularly.
We stock PVC unions from 20 to 63 mm in socket x socket form, with threaded-end versions for connecting to BSP ports. Keep the O-ring clean when reassembling and tighten by hand. Fitting a union either side of a filter or solenoid valve means it can be cleaned or replaced in minutes.
