This fitting is the coupler half of a camlock joint: a female socket with two cam arms that pull a male adapter against the gasket. The difference from a standard Type C is the longer, sharper-ribbed hose shank, which gives more grip and more clamp length on thick-walled suction hose. That matters on pump inlets, where vacuum tries to collapse the hose and pull it off a short tail.
