A female-threaded stainless cap with a hexagon outer body, used to close the end of a threaded pipe or male nipple. The hex takes a spanner, so it can be tightened and removed cleanly.

The stainless steel hexagon head cap screws over a male pipe end or nipple to seal it. Unlike a round cap, the full hexagon body accepts an open-ended or ring spanner, which makes it easy to tighten in tight positions and to remove later for flushing or extension of the line. It is usually machined from 304 or 316 bar, giving crisp threads and a neat finish.
