A stainless steel union is made of three parts: two threaded ends and a central nut. Each end screws onto a pipe, then the nut pulls the two machined seats together to seal. Undo the nut and the line comes apart without rotating any pipe, which is why unions sit next to pumps, meters, filters and valves that need removing for service.
We stock female x female unions from 1/4" to 3" in SS 304 and SS 316, with BSP or NPT threads and metal-to-metal seats. They suit water treatment plant, food and beverage lines, marine engine rooms and laboratory pipework. A male x female version is listed separately. Seats are ground for a dry, metal-to-metal seal.
