A stainless steel gate valve uses a wedge disc driven by a threaded stem to give full-bore, low-loss isolation. Cast in CF8M (SS 316) or CF8 (SS 304), it handles chlorinated water, brine, mild chemicals and wash-down conditions that would dezincify brass or rust cast iron. The bonnet is screwed to the body and packed with PTFE, and the multi-turn handwheel closes gradually, protecting long lines from pressure surges.
