A forged, reinforced outlet that welds onto a run pipe and gives a female NPT branch at 90 degrees. It adds a screwed connection for gauges, valves and drains to a welded header without a tee in the run.

A threaded branch outlet bridges welded and screwed systems. Its base is contoured to the header and welded with a full penetration groove weld, while the top is tapped NPT to ASME B1.20.1. MSS SP-97 governs the design so that the outlet provides integral reinforcement for the opening. The trade name threadolet is often used for this fitting; we describe the generic type here and list threadolets separately.
