A threaded cross joins four screwed pipes, or one line and three accessories, at a single point. In practice the branches are often fitted with a gauge, a bleed valve and a plug, giving a compact test or instrument station. Centre-to-end dimensions match the B16.11 threaded tee and 90° elbow of the same class, and a cross can be assembled more easily if a union is placed in one of the legs.
