A forged threaded tee provides a branch at right angles from a screwed run. Each port is tapped with an ASME B1.20.1 NPT thread, and centre-to-end dimensions follow ASME B16.11, matching the threaded 90° elbow of the same class so that layouts stay predictable. The tee is often used as a test or drain point by fitting a plug in the branch, which can later be swapped for a gauge or valve.
