A wafer butterfly valve has a slim, ring-shaped body with centring holes or lugs that locate it between two pipe flanges. Long studs pass outside the body and clamp it in place, and the rubber seat doubles as the flange gasket. A disc on a central shaft turns 90 degrees to open or close. The valve is a fraction of the length and weight of a gate valve, which makes installation on large bores far easier.

Lever operation is standard to DN200, with worm gearboxes on all sizes on request and ISO 5211 top flanges for actuators. They are widely used in chilled water plant, pump stations and fire water.
